And the 2010 World Series winning San Francisco Giants earned ever nickel of it!!

Giant reward: World champs receive bonus of $317,631 apiece

Baseball players always profess that the ring is the thing, but you have to think they also get pretty fired up for the day their playoff share arrives in the mail.

Of course they do. This year's champion — the San Francisco Giants — will each receive an amount that's just south of the minimum player's salary. For guys like Pablo Sandoval(notes) ($465K salary in 2010) and Dan Runzler(notes) ($400K), that's a pretty significant chunk of change.

A full postseason share on the World Series champion San Francisco Giants was worth $317,631, down from a record $350,030 for the New York Yankees in 2009.
The commissioner's office said Monday a full share on the losing Texas Rangers was $246,280, down from $265,358 for the NL champion Philadelphia Phillies last year.
The players' pool was $54.9 million, a drop from a record $59.1 million last year. It includes 60 percent of the ticket money from the first three games of each division series, and the first four games of each league championship series and the World Series.
A few things: CNBC's Darren Rovell reports that Bengie Molina(notes) will receive prorated portions of the shares he earned as a member of both the Rangers and Giants this season. Meanwhile, the general pool didn't rival last year's because the capacities of the involved stadiums this year were smaller.

Also, I love that the players are only allowed to take from the bare minimum — as if they'd throw games to get a couple of extra dollars tacked onto their checks — and that even the second-place teams get a tiny taste. (Don't spend that $10,119 consolation prize all in one place, San Diego Padres!)
