IT'S ABOUT TIME

Last month the Chicago Bulls announced they would unveil a bust of Scottie Pippen inside the United Center, on permanent display, to honor the work of the six-time champion and Basketball Hall of Famer.
Pippen, who retired in 2004, works as an official ambassador for the team, which is currently riding high with a three-game lead in the Eastern Conference with one week to play. This year's Bulls model avidly follow the Pippen modus operandi -- startlingly good defense, communication on both ends, good ball movement and an athletic up-tempo attack when the time is right. It's almost as if Pippen, who sits courtside at nearly every Bulls game, is willing this current team to work in his own image.
Don't believe me? Watch the team Thursday, as it takes on the Boston Celtics, and then reflect back to this highlight compilation:
The ceremony also gives us a chance to post this Nike commercial, which, to this day, is my favorite advertisement in any medium. No other advert has ever properly portrayed the essence and style of the endorser quite like this clip:
(BDL will be at the game Thursday night. I'll be live-tweeting on my Twitter account, with plenty of coverage of both the ceremony and possible Eastern Conference finals preview to follow.)
